This salad was fantastic: red cabbage, apple, balsamic vinegar and balsamic reduction (to add a bit of sweetness). I make a variation, replacing the apple with raisins – good too.

We couldn’t figure this out exactly, but what we think it is, is a bicycle hire that takes you from the various metro station. It is charged onto your travel card (like a London Oyster card). When you’ve used it, you drop it off at the next cycle park.

The bicycles are electric, so it seems a good way to get around town. But you do need to be brave to share the roads with Parisian drivers!
