My big birthday started when I received my first present at 4.30 – a mouse! Dali brought in one of the liveliest mice ever. Tim and I were chasing around the bedroom for about half an hour before we finally caught it.

After that we were wide awake so no chance of getting back to sleep, so I am going to get up. At least that means my birthday will have more waking hours.

Last night I got an email from my friend Tamsin who suggested that I either do something naughty or nice in my last few hours of being 39… So I decided to do both and bite off the ears of the chocolate bunny I was saving for Easter!

Time to get up.
