I guess being from the Southern Hemisphere and unused to snow, it still excites me every time. My cat, Dali, woke me up early this morning for his morning treats and food. I was still half asleep, but stumbled through to the kitchen, grabbed his food from the fridge, switched the kettle on and only when I turned around did I notice how beautiful it looked outside!
Not only was everything covered in a beautiful snow white blanket, but the sky was the bluest blue I had seen for a long time.

Poor Tim was still sleeping … but there was no time for sleeping at at a time like this. I walked around opening every shutter in the house (and waking Tim up in the process). I was like a kid: “it’s been snowing”, I almost shouted
I quickly pulled on some clothes and took Dali, the cat out for his first snow experience. We haven’t really had snow that’s settled, since we moved downstairs, so he’s never had the opportunity to walk around in it etc. He wasn’t too keen … I was surprised that he tried to lick it almost immediately – that he seemed to like. But he wasn’t so keen on walking on it, though.

Today was car boot sale day. Tim and I got up early (obviously), got ready and drove down to Chelford where the car boot sale was being held, but when we got there there was a grubby old sign saying “fields too wet – see you next Sunday”. But it was a nice drive anyhow (forgot my camera!) through the snow-clad fields.

As I am sitting here writing this, it has just started to snow again….

On our way back from the the car boot sale that never materialised, we stopped off at an organic produce market on a farm near Little Bollington. They have fantastic produce. We bought things from boar to ostrich to pastel-coloured eggs.

I am freezing. I think it is time to turn the heating up or move closer to the fire …
