Anyone who knows me, know that there is nothing I love more than a bargain and I certainly bagged great bargain today. I pop in and out of charity shops and rummage through stalls at car boot sales looking for something either inspiring, beautiful or unique … or all three. Today on my way to have my hair cut, I had 5 mins to spare, so I popped into the Heart Foundation Charity Shop. I saw the most lovely teaset from the finest, most delicate bone china:
10 cups
10 saucers
10 side plates
sugar bowl
milk jug
…in 5 colours, with gold trim. There was a price tag attached to the milk jug £10. Wow, I thought – expensive milk jug. So I asked how much the set cost. £10, they responded. The £10 was for the whole set. I didn’t have to think – I bought it on the spot.

Once I got home, I felt compelled to find out the value of my teaset. This is what I found online

(for those who can’t read the fine print: £22 for a cup and saucer)

(another £8 for the side plate)
…. so £30 x 10 … plus a bit more for the sugar bowl and milk jug. So I guess, we’re talking about £325!!! Whohooooo!
I couldn’t wait to get home and have my first cup of tea of of them – and they didn’t disappoint!
