No-one likes to admit it, but here goes:
I think I am getting old!
I go into the shops, plastic at the ready, to spoil myself with something new. I almost beg the retail stores to throw gorgeous things at me and take my money. But … I walk around the stores and realise that I just don’t like anything. The styles out for the next season suit only those built like beanpoles or ironing boards.
And if you don’t believe me, have a look:
Now the next worrying thing is, if the models are looking fat in the clothes, what are us ‘ordinary’ people going to look like. Once again, I promise that this picture has not been altered in any way. It was downloaded straight from the retailer’s website:
This is when I decided to give up on the clothes and focus my attention on shoes. I need a pair of comfy flatties, preferably sandals. But oh my gosh, the shoes out there are ugly. Perhaps it is just me, but I couldn’t get excited about these ‘ballerina shoes’ – the only flat shoes in store. I was unfortunately not blessed with dainty little feet, and this entire range from one shop is either ugly, uncomfortable or makes me look like ‘Ugly Betty’.
