A very wise man (former boss Andrew Starbuck) once said to me:
“If you’re climbing a mountain, sometimes you have to stop, turn around and look how far you’ve gone rather than only looking ahead to see how far you still have to go”.
Today I have decided to do just that. The daily grind of building work is really getting us down, because of the constant state of chaos we live in. In short:
-
Lounge is currently packed with things from the master bedroom and kitchen as these rooms are still under construction
-
Master bedroom is still a construction site and contains extra furniture and kitchenware.
-
Kitchen is a construction site currently housing the dishwasher and tumble dryer.
-
Bathroom is missing plaster and basin, but still usable
-
Second bedroom is packed with extra furniture, all our clothes (not enough room in the cupboard), extra linen, piano. This is where we sleep.
-
Study is a haven – filled with bedding, books and odds ‘n sods, but livable.
-
Utility room is a day away from being complete and will then house the washer and dryer
-
Hallway is still being used as the kitchen
-
Garage is jam packed with extra furniture, kitchenware and things
But still, things have moved on a lot. Here’s looking back to see how far we’ve come:
